New Year's Eve

Going to the gym to enjoy the last day before the flood of New Year's Resolution gym-goers. I remember starting back to the gym last year as part of my own New Year's Resolution, and I'm glad that I've stuck with it for the past year. My goal for 2013 is to stay lean, stay healthy, and be more consistent. There were stretches in 2012 where I didn't work out at all due to travelling through Europe or staying with relatives, and those two months probably had a really negative impact on my fitness goals.

I'm currently maxing out at the following values (Actual lifts, not calculated. Values are strange because of metric weights converted to pounds)

  • Bench 224
  • Squat 290
  • Deadlift 356
  • Power Clean 191

I'm weighing in between 190-194 lbs, with between 10-12% body fat, measured in the morning on an empty stomach.

My goals for 2013 are as follows:
  1. Get and stay under 10% body fat.
  2. Bench 275
  3. Squat 400
  4. Deadlift 450
  5. Power Clean 245
I think that these are fairly auspicious lifting goals, but ambition is what drives us to greatness. It'd also be disappointing to have to make new goals in May because I didn't challenge myself sufficiently.
